The current exhibition, at Jephson Gardens Gallery, is an exuberant and inspiring celebration of children’s artwork from across Warwickshire.
Work is on show from over 50 students from the Kitchen Table Art Club, a local art group run by LSA artist Lynne Gougeon. There are a huge range of styles and subjects – from cute sheep and the Mona Lisa to gothic subjects, like crows and a haunted house. All guaranteed to make you smile.
Students from ARISE Education, a specialist education provider, also worked with Lynne to produce a range of pieces on the theme of self identity – a meaningful experience for all involved. This includes bold painted masks among other visual and written artworks that reflect the moods and attitudes of the pupils. This invariably sparks lively conversation amongst those who come to visit.
The colourful visual display presents another very special artist, namely actor David Bradley, who is exhibiting a selection of his paintings for the very first time. He has studied with Lynne for over two years. In Lynne’s words, she says of all her pupils,
“I am so proud of all my students and have loved watching them grow in confidence and skill. I am delighted to be able to share their work with the public.”
The exhibition runs until March 8th and is well worth a visit to brighten up any soggy winter’s day.
