With just four board meetings a year and a focus on governance and long-term direction, the role is flexible, rewarding and open to those with or without previous board experience.
For Mark Godfrey, photography is as much about observation as it is about expression. What began in his teenage years with film cameras has become a renewed passion in the digital age, where he seeks out fleeting street moments in bold colour or quiet black and white.
Artist in Residence Vanessa van Wyk shares the inspiration behind her vibrant paintings, her fascination with sacred geometry and why art has always been her way of connecting people and cultures.
As Artist in Residence for Out of Place at The Art Room, Mark Godfrey brings a keen eye for the unexpected. His photography is rooted in observation, capturing the overlooked, the fleeting and the quietly extraordinary.
From candid street scenes to striking monochrome compositions, Mark’s work invites us to see familiar places from a fresh perspective, perfectly reflecting the exhibition’s exploration of what it means to feel Out of Place.
