I began painting shortly after I took early retirement. Then an artist friend insisted on giving me a painting lesson whilst staying with her, and I loved it! Art has become my passion.
I use mostly Acrylics and Oils, but along my artistic journey, I have had great fun painting many different subjects, using mixed media and incorporating texture into much of my work.

Bright colours are a feature of most of my paintings, especially when painting the beautiful colour of nature!

I have exhibited regularly with Leamington Studio Artists, the Stratford Upon Avon Society of Artists, and with the Association of Midland Artists in both Leamington Spa and the Rugby Art Gallery, and during Warwickshire Open Studios.

My success as an artist has grown over the years, with my paintings in private collections locally  and internationally in California and  Singapore!

A quote I aspire to, by Gérard Curtis Delano:
“God gave me a talent to create beauty and that is is what He wanted me to do”

PHILIP COLECHIN

Most of his work reflects the last 35 years of living on Scotland’s South West Coast, painting views and landscapes of the estuaries and the abundance of wildlife in the area.

In recent times, his work had varied from painting with watercolours and oils to sculpting from wood and copper. He has exhibited his artwork across Scotland but now resides in Byfield, West Northamptonshire, to be closer to family.

LSA ART ROOM
Please do not forget about the next Art Room exhibition  ‘REFLECTION’ as entries close on the 6th September at 8pm. Any queries please contact Maddie.
EAST LODGE GALLERY COFFEE MORNING

The Coffee morning organised by Mary Thomas at the East Lodge Gallery last Tuesday 29th was very well attended. We have decided that all future coffee mornings will be held on the Tuesday of the last week of the exhibition, as opposed to having it directly after the put up of a new exhibition.

With new exhibitions we like to have a smooth transition and it helps with the final arrangement of the curation before the gallery opens it doors on a Wednesday. It also doesn’t interfere with the public’s viewing of the artworks.

We look forward to seeing you all at the next coffee morning on Tuesday 19th September.
