EAST LODGE NOVEMBER EXHIBITION
East Lodge Exhibition “EARTH BOUND” featuring
Sally Larke, Zoe Petrie, Iris Eisenhart,
Corinna Spencer, Wendy Campbell-Briggs and Elena CecchinatoPrivate View to be held on Saturday 11th November from 1 to 3:30pm
SALLY LARKE

Sally Larke lives in Warwick.
Sally makes pottery in her studio at the bottom of her garden. Sally playfully creates ceramic pictures and sculptural vessels using stoneware, porcelain, and glass.

ZOE PETRIE

Zoe Petrie returns to ceramics with a new collection of hand formed pinch pots.  Zoe’s work is a mixture of high fired clays and sealed raku, using a technique to create an organic surface texture with an earthy palette.

IRIS EISENHART

Iris Eisenhart studied pottery and learnt to throw pots on the wheel with Gayle Roberts, herself a student of renowned potter Sasha Makovkin (1928-2003) in Berkeley, California. From 2014 onwards, Iris threw her pots first at Studio 16 in Warwick, then in her own studio in Kenilworth.

Iris has been exhibiting her work all over the country, from Potfest in the Pens in Penrith, Cumbria, to Ceramics in Charnwood, Loughborough as well as locally, for example at Art in the Park and Warwickshire Open Studios.

CORINNA SPENCER

Corinna is interested in the synergy of processes across various disciplines and the challenge of their application.

Inspired by Paul Klee’s work and more recently by incorporating found objects into her ceramic pieces and jewellery, Corinna is intrigued by finding new ways of achieving this.

She has exhibited locally and nationally.
WENDY CAMPBELL-BRIGGS

‘Using the simplicity of ceramic forms to express the fragility of our environment, ceramic artist Wendy Campbell-Briggs creates both one-off sculptural pieces as well as artworks in series.

Wendy’s aim is to make the work visually engaging whilst communicating an important environmental message about species loss.  As a metaphor for this Wendy uses lachrymatories, otherwise known as tear bottles which were used during the Roman period to collect the tears of mourners.

Wendy exhibits nationally in galleries and ceramic art shows, a winner of the West Midlands Open and finalist in the biennial Chaiya Arts Awards.’

ELENA CECCHINATO

Since 2004 Elena Cecchinato has developed a successful signature art practice, selling artworks, facilitating workshops, and participating in international exhibitions and residencies.

Elena Cecchinato was born in Venice Italy. Elena works across different mediums, primarily drawing, but also painting, automatic writing, print, installation, video, sound, and live art. For Elena art is a way to explore and expose the contradictions and similarities within different cultural practices, a way to find unity in the fragmentation of life. Recently Elena’s focus has been on the themes of invisibility, transformation, and abstractions.
