Join the Team Behind the Local Arts Scene

We are a charity that is passionate about keeping visual arts alive, vibrant, and accessible across Leamington Spa and Warwickshire. From our spaces in Jephson Gardens and the LSA Art Room to our community exhibitions, we exist to bridge the gap between creative talent and opportunity.

We are seeking new Trustees to help steer our future. Above all, we need strategic thinkers who can help guide our direction, share fresh ideas, and ensure our charity thrives.

Why Join Us?

  • Shape the future:Help set the long-term vision for our contribution to visual arts in our town.
  • Low-friction, strategic focus:Your time is spent on big-picture oversight, not daily chores.
  • Flexible involvement:Choose whether or not you get involved in operational working groups.
  • No prior board experience required:If you care about art, community, or bring practical skills (finance, marketing, legal, business, or lived experience) to the table, you belong here!

What Does Being an LSA Trustee Involve?

We know life and work are busy, so we keep the baseline role strictly focused on governance and strategic direction.

  1. The Core Strategic Role (Your Main Focus)
  • Quarterly Board Meetings:Just 4 meetings a year, held in Leamington.
  • Strategic Oversight:Reviewing our direction, safeguarding our finances, and shaping big decisions for LSA’s growth and stability.
  • Time Commitment:Roughly 2 -3 hours per month on average across the year (including prep reading for meetings).

  1. Working Groups & Operational Support (100% Optional)

Our working groups run as and when needed for specific projects or operational tasks. As a trustee, your strategic input is what matters most to us—hands-on working group involvement is completely up to you:

  • Governance & Strategy Only:Focus purely on board-level direction, policy, and decision-making. You leave the day-to-day running of projects to others.
  • Ad-Hoc Expertise:Got a specific skill (e.g., social media, legal, finance, IT) and want to be involved with a working group on a short-term project? You can jump in briefly and step back when it’s done.
  • Hands-On Involvement:If you happen to enjoy getting stuck into gallery events or community projects in your spare time, the door is always open!

“We value your insight and strategic perspective first and foremost. You don’t need to run events or manage daily tasks—just help us to steer the ship.”

Please take time to think about it and let us know if you have any further questions. We are a fantastic organisation with endless opportunities ahead—we simply need more strategic minds on board to help us prioritise and make them happen!” Please contact Mike or Sue for further information.
