Opportunity to get involved!

Well the next Journeys with The Waste Land blogpost is an invitation to become involved in a wider sense with the project. I am hoping you will consider entering the Open Competition at East Lodge “Journeys with The Waste Land” LSA style. News will be announced soon so watch out for the information. The exhibition will be 31st October-25th November 2018 so start working on your piece!

In addition to this maybe you know of an organisation, that might be interested in contributing to the bigger picture? The Project is looking for extra events from all aspects of the community. So are you involved in a choir, a group of musicians, a dance class or school? Do you belong to a poetry group, a theatre company, a Book Club? Do you attend a drawing class, sewing circle, or have an interest in local history, research, architecture or anything where the phrase “The Waste Land” conjures up a possible project? The volunteer group in Coventry associated with the Journeys with The Waste Land exhibition would love to hear from you. read the link here to the blogpost and have a think…!

The wonderful school project currently showing in East Lodge is a fine example of what can be achieved working with other groups if the initiative and drive to create something new is fostered. Take inspiration from this brilliant collaborative show.

A couple of LSA members have already shown an interest in staging an event alongside the main exhibition at The Herbert in conjunction with The Mead and Turner Contemporary, so let’s get talking about the possibilities!  Be inventive and think of the possible connections your event or organisation could make with the wider community on the back of a National project!
