Thank you to everyone who submitted work and to all the volunteers who stewarded in the LSA marquee over the weekend. We had lots of visitors (even in the rain on Saturday!) and we made some sales. We also gained some new members and we were able to promote East Lodge and the Art Room.
We couldn’t have done this without you!
Many of our members had stands again this year. We hope it was a good festival for all of you.

This month we say thank you (but hopefully not goodbye) to two key volunteers: Caroline Fraser, who has done a great job as East Lodge manager and Virginia Murphy who has supported the LSA over many years, both as secretary to the Board and as Exhibitions Coordinator at East Lodge.
The board would like to thank both of them for their commitment and dedication and the many hours they have given on behalf of all of us to help make the LSA work. We wish them both well for the future.
TWO EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES!
Would you like to be more involved with the LSA? Could you or someone you know help by taking on these important roles?
EAST LODGE MANAGER
We are seeking a volunteer (or two volunteers) to take on this important role with responsibility for ensuring that the East Lodge Gallery and studios run smoothly. If you have excellent interpersonal skills then we would like to hear from you!
This role would work well if shared by two people but applications from individuals are also welcome.

SECRETARY
We are looking for someone with great attention to detail and accurate record keeping, excellent organisational skills, who is also a good team player, to fulfill the role of Secretary.

COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING
We think that our approach to communications and marketing could make a huge difference if we get it right.
We’re getting together a small group of members, led by Mike Patrick, to work on improving both our internal communications with members and our external messaging and marketing with supporters, funders, partners and potential buyers of art.
We’re keen to involve more people who may have expertise. We need your knowledge and ideas!

We are taking East Lodge gallery bookings for 2024, and already we have a few LSA members who have signed up.
Please contact Alastair Gamble, who will be taking over from Virginia Murphy as the East Lodge Exhibition Organiser, on coolcave3@gmail.com if you are wishing to book a gallery space for next year.
The board has asked for volunteers’ ideas about improving the signage for the lodge.
We will of course need to get approval for it and possibly planning permission as it’s a grade 2 listed building.

EAST LODGE COFFEE MORNINGS
Mary Thomas has offered to organise these lovely and relaxed events again. All members are welcome. It’s a chance to meet other members and look at the exhibitions while the East Lodge is closed to the public. There will be cake!!!!
They will take place on the last Tuesday of each month 11am to 12.30pm. starting on 29th August
