East Lodge has a new Manager

We are pleased to introduce Chris Freegard-Elmes as the new East Lodge Manager. Chris is taking over from Morgan Forth, who has done a fantastic job, working with a team of volunteers, getting the Lodge up-and-running over the last year or so.

Chris is originally from Southampton. After a career in the Armed Forces he returned to education gaining an honours degree in Art and Design with Philosophy.
He trained as an art teacher and worked initially in Devon, moving to Buckinghamshire in 2001, then relocating to Coventry in 2004.

Prior to his degree course, he was fortunate enough to study under the late Robert O Lenkiewicz for four years in Plymouth. This period of intense study proved to be invaluable in providing a solid basis for his attitude towards painting and life.

Chris’s main focus is figurative art, and most recently the presentation of the human figure in abstraction. His main influences include Lovis Corinth, Sargent, Bacon and Jenny Saville. Chris also works on small three dimensional pieces in stone, wood and card.

Chris is excited at the opportunity to be involved with the LSA Gallery at East Lodge and hopes that he can continue the good work already completed by Morgan Forth and the team.

You can contact Chris at the Lodge, or by email to EastLodgeManager@lsa-artists.org.
