For Anya, landscape painting is less about depicting a place and more about capturing its feeling—a space where memory, intuition, and imagination meet. Her images hover between the real and the dreamlike, using layered surfaces and shifting light to draw viewers into landscapes that feel familiar yet remain unbound by geography.

LSA proudly marks the success of its first-ever Leamington Mini Print Competition, a national showcase of 10×10 cm prints hosted at the Royal Pump Rooms. With strong entries, enthusiastic visitors, sold artworks and the support of leading printmaking partners, this inaugural event sets the stage for a growing annual celebration of printmaking in Leamington Spa.

Lorna Ashworth’s artistic journey offers a deeper understanding of her work. Rooted in giving overlooked materials new life, she draws inspiration from recycled tins—their colours, patterns, and hidden histories. Trained in jewellery at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, she shapes these humble containers into organic forms, transforming the ordinary into intimate, wearable art.

Julie Swinsco’s artistic journey is shaped by the city itself—her muse and mirror. Drawn to the movement, light, and reflections of urban life since studying Fine Art in London, she captures the fleeting choreography of people, cars, and weather. Whether in Prague’s summer glow or Birmingham’s rain-lit streets, she finds beauty in the blur where energy, emotion, and environment meet.

For Mark Godfrey, photography is as much about observation as it is about expression. What began in his teenage years with film cameras has become a renewed passion in the digital age, where he seeks out fleeting street moments in bold colour or quiet black and white.

Rooted in the beauty of the natural world, Fiona Metcalfe’s work explores the dialogue between landscape, light, and memory. From the rugged coastlines of her Scottish childhood to the softer contours of Warwickshire, she translates these environments into layered expressions of colour, texture, and form. Working across painting, textiles, and printmaking, her practice is guided by curiosity, experimentation, and a balance of play and perseverance.

Lucy Burton’s art is rooted in discovery, discipline, and experimentation. Working alla prima in oils, she embraces spontaneity—each brushstroke full of energy and intention. From flowers to pets, her work balances boldness with sensitivity, revealing beauty through close observation.

LSA is launching a Mini Print Exhibition, inviting UK artists to submit original 10 × 10 cm prints for display in Leamington Spa and online this November. Entries are open 1–30 September 2025.

An artist who finds serenity in abstract painting and meaning in ceramics, Ginte creates work that invites calm, honours tradition, and bridges past with present.

After years in a corporate role, Jaimie craved creativity. Her first local art class reignited the joy she’d felt for art as a child and became a turning point. Transitioning to oils during lockdown allowed her to slow down, embrace each layer, and discover the expressive freedom of the palette knife—a journey that has since led her work into homes across the UK, where it continues to connect with collectors in meaningful ways.

It’s been over ten years since LSA helped transform Jephson Gardens into Leamington Spa’s open-air gallery. This much-loved event returns to Archery Lawn with work from 14 LSA members, and a special spotlight on our 2025 Bursary artists.
