I am an artist living and working in Leamington Spa.
Primarily I work in oils, within the Classical Realist tradition of the old masters .
However, at times I also enjoy the dichotomy of changing between objective representation and the subjective expression of Lyrical Abstraction.
Dichotomy:- ( A division or contrast between things that are opposed, different or mutually exclusive. )
This often results in the changing of my working practice and incorporating elements of mixed media, for example, gesso, acrylics, charcoal and pastel.
My aim is to stimulate the viewers imagination, and therefore hopefully give them an added incentive to engage with the subject and content of the work.
