Regrettably, I will not be continuing my membership of the LSA. The directors insisted that I would only have my artwork accepted for exhibition at the Artroom if they approved the content. I find this totally unacceptable.
There are already too many constraints in society on freedom of expression, but that an artist led gallery should enforce restrictions as to what the public is allowed to see, is to me unforgivable. They should be fighting tooth and nail to give the public the opportunity to decide for themselves what is offensive. If all gallery directors wouldn't allow the public to see representations of naked people major galleries across the world would be empty.
Additionally there is no forum where I can appeal, or have an open discussion with the members as to the how censorship is being implemented without consultation on their behalf. - Photo Gallery
