My Profile

As an artist, I work to develop paintings that speak to me and to other viewers about the awesomeness of the sea and the land about it. Before putting my palette knife to canvas I have taken in the atmosphere of the place, over time, sometimes just walking about and noting the light changing. It is never about capturing the image before me, but the feel of it, the way it moves and changes in the light and the darkness of the day. I try to make something more than can be seen, by applying colour and movement using mainly palette knives, resulting often so letting slightly unreal, verging on the abstract.
