Sandy Archer - ‘art that transports you to a joyful place’ Sandy is an abstract artist producing works that are a vibrant display of bold, vibrant colour that brings energy and joy to a space. Her work shows a strong sense of design and structure resulting from her many years as a graphic designer. The two main heroes in every art piece are a strong sense of place, shape and colour. Blending her love of colour, her passion for art with her skills in design - the outcome is 'art, designed to make you feel good!' Driven by the principle to love what you do and do what you love, Sandy creates work that reflects her love of travel, colour and life. after living in Australia for many years Sandy now lives and works in the UK, which is giving fresh inspiration to her work and marks a return to a place she has always loved, her home town Leamington Spa. I enjoy producing abstract naive landscapes of 'Places I love' I like to immerse myself in and capture the joy of a moment, taking a mental photograph and recreating the moment in my own eyes in acrylic or collage on canvas. Sometimes we need to put our own spin on the world. What is right in front of us can be so much more colourful if we choose to see it and remember it that way. I choose to remember places by how they made me feel. Uplifted. Inspired. Happy. Alive. I enjoy applying layers, using tissue paper and paint to build up depth and texture that depicts the essence of a place. Nature has always been my go to place to retreat and find solace, and capturing the essence of a moment experienced in nature allows me to revisit and feel the moment again. I just love it when my art finds its happy place in the world, bringing joy to its new owners.
