My Profile

I am a Warwickshire based artist with a love of British nature, I have been painting from an early age but only as a career in more recent years, most of my working life has been spent as a professional gardener and willow artist which has given me a sound basis of knowledge of the local flora and fauna to draw upon. Using my two favourite mediums, charcoal or oil I hope to capture the beauty and joy of nature within my work. I choose the medium to suit the composition, sometimes a simple black and white drawing is all is needed, unfussy but with layers and depths of tone while other times is has to be colour where my preferred method is Alla Prima.
