Small groups of musicians performing have been the inspiration behind my paintings since the late 1980’s. Incorporating a sense of the music and the gesture of the musician plays an important part in my work. I recently have included a QR code so the viewer can listen to the music that inspsired the painting they are looking at. My paintings are made using the quick sketches made at a performance combined with my memory and the music., I have been Artist in Residence with Leamington Music since 2006 putting on an exhibition of my work at their annual May Music Festival in the Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa.
