Ina Năstase is a Romanian-born contemporary artist based in the United Kingdom, whose practice explores the emotional and symbolic language of the natural world. Working across painting, drawing and mixed media, she creates richly textured compositions inspired by botanical forms, insects, flowers and organic structures, balancing close observation with imagination and memory.

A graduate of the University of Arts in Bucharest, Faculty of Fine Arts, Graphics Department, Năstase’s early artistic achievement was recognised nationally through two consecutive Second Prizes and Special Mentions at the National Visual Arts Olympiad, in the Textile section. She was also awarded a Diploma of Excellence in Education by the Prime Minister of Romania, distinctions that marked an early recognition of her artistic and creative potential.

Her practice has since developed through exhibitions and artistic projects across Romania and the United Kingdom, with works presented at established cultural and exhibition venues including Simeza Gallery and Metopa Gallery in Bucharest and Pitești, Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Albany Theatre Gallery, Belgrade Theatre and Fargo Creative Village. Her work has also featured in international and national group exhibitions, curated projects, competitions and charitable art initiatives.

Năstase’s work is characterised by an expressive approach to nature rather than photographic representation. Through layered colour, line, texture and symbolism, she transforms familiar natural forms into contemplative compositions that invite the viewer to look beyond the subject and engage with its emotional resonance.

Now working between her Romanian artistic heritage and contemporary British surroundings, Năstase continues to exhibit, undertake commissions and develop a distinctive body of work centred on nature, transformation, memory and the quiet poetry of everyday life.
