Warwickshire lies at the heart of Gez Cox’s work. Born and raised in Leamington Spa, he draws continual inspiration from the county’s rolling countryside, historic towns and changing light. Much of his painting centres on capturing the atmosphere and character of this landscape he knows so well.
An award-winning, self-taught watercolour artist, Gez discovered his talent in 1994 and soon became a full-time professional. In 1997 he was elected to the Society of Graphic Fine Art. His landscapes convey quiet poetry, his townscapes are vibrant and full of life, and his portraits reflect warmth and personality.
Before dedicating himself entirely to painting, Gez worked as an electrician and was also a well-known drummer, performing for over fifty years — a creative thread that has remained throughout his life.
Today, his work is held by collectors both locally and internationally.
