My love for stitching started at a very early age, enjoying the art of hand embroidery and cross stitching. In 2016, I came across the technique of free motion embroidery, dropping the guide and using the needle as a pencil and a whole new stitching world opened up for me! I love creating true to life everyday scenes that the viewer can relate to, focusing on fine detail and sometimes using appliqué technique, adding different textiles, making my pictures seem almost 3D to the eye! I also use watercolours/acrylics for colour and shading. Since 2016, I have exhibited my work in the Rugby Art Gallery & Museum (2019), The Leamington Open (2019), The Clerkenwell Gallery (London) 2019 as part of The International Contemporary Stitched Art Exhibition run by The Society for Embroidered Work, The Sunbury Embroidery Gallery and had articles published in Be Creative with Workbox magazine and Embellish (Australia) magazine. In 2019, 'Peek-A-Boo!' was selected to be part of the British Collection, an extensive collection of contemporary embroidered artworks assembled by the textile artist Diana Springall. I have also enjoyed being part of the Warwickshire Open Studios and exhibiting/selling my work at the fabulous Art In The Park festival.
