Dear LSA Members,
We are delighted to announce that the LSA Art Room – a new gallery and social arts space in the centre of Leamington Spa – will be opening to the public on Saturday September 17th at 10am, with an exhibition of LSA members’ work. We are holding a private view on Friday 16th September from 6pm to 8pm and all are welcome.
The LSA Art Room is an exciting new venture for the LSA. It will be a flagship gallery right in the heart of town, featuring a curated selection of the very best artwork from our wonderful members. We can’t wait to welcome you to the space.
Location
The Art Room is located at 5 Satchwell Court, Royal Priors. This is in the lower outside area, of the Royal Priors, opposite Carluccio’s.
Management of the Art Room
The LSA Art Room will be managed by artists Maddie Webb and Cassie Leedham, on behalf of the LSA.
We aim to have one of us in the space at all times that we are open, but we would appreciate a list of volunteers and the times they are available to make a timetable that will cover as much opening time as possible. Even if you can only offer an hour, please do offer. Email lsaartroom@gmail.com with your name and your availability. Volunteers will be required to use the payment system, and training will be given to do this.
As well as acting as managers for the gallery, Maddie and Cassie will also be joint artists in residence for the first term of tenancy in the Art Room. This means that they will be working live in a small studio area in the gallery itself, which will be open to the public. If the tenancy continues after October, we will be looking for two new artists to share residency in the space. If you think that could be you, please get in touch at lsaartroom@gmail.com
Opening Hours
We will aim to be open Monday to Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm, but this will depend on volunteers and other commitments.
