Katy Walden is a painter based in Warwick working predominantly in oils. She enjoys painting a wide range of subject matter from still life to landscapes of places visited using a visual language of brushstrokes and marks to capture the light and essence of the subject.
Katy loves painting the coast and other natural forms but can be equally inspired by capturing everyday objects in the house. Often painting from life, Katy is as interested in the painterly quality of her work than making a realistic representation.
Katy has a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Falmouth School of Art. After a long break from showing work she was awarded the Warwickshire Open Studio Emerge Bursary in 2022 and has since been a regular exhibitor at The Art Room and other open exhibitions around Warwickshire as well as being shortlisted for national competitions and exhibiting in the Mall Galleries in London.
