TEXTILE WEEKS – ‘THREADS OF EXPRESSION’

Following the success of textile week in 2025, we are expanding for a two week focus on textiles in 2026,

‘Threads of Expression’, A celebration of textile art, will take place in the Art Room from 31st March to 11th April.

This exhibition aims to showcase the full range of possibilities of textile art. We want to create a space filled with colour, texture, and pattern—woven, stitched, knotted, dyed, felted, printed and layered into works that blur the line between art, craft, and design.

Together, the works will form a vibrant dialogue which will reveal textile art as a powerful, expressive medium—one that carries personal narratives and collective histories while continuously reinventing itself in contemporary practice.

The exhibition will include demonstrations and workshops to bring the processes to life, and willoffer the chance for people to have a go at creating something themselves.

We are looking for 8-10 textile artists to form a group, and to work collaboratively to build and steward this exhibition. The artists will be expected to offer demonstrations and will also have the opportunityto run paid-for workshops. The group will be brought together and supported by mixed media artists, Jacqui Smithson and Anna Clarke, and we are seeking people to take part and play an active role in making this a fantastic showcase of textile art.

If this is you, please complete the submission form below by the 31st January 2026. We will select participants on the quality and originality of the work described, the commitment to work as a team and, to curate a show which provides a mixed and vibrant offer of textile art
