Predominantly a felt maker, Jacqui uses the wet and dry felting technique to produce her textile art. By layering pre-dyed Merino wool, silks, and threads she creates a painterly design with the fibres much like building up a loosely painted acrylic. When the felt is dry she adds stitch detail by machine and hand, to give finer definition.
More recently Jacqui has been exploring eco printing, (or Botanical printing as it is also known). This is a process by which the colours and shapes of leaves or other natural plant material such as bark, seeds or flowers are transferred onto natural fabrics and paper.
Jacqui splits her time between teaching textile workshops from her home studio and creating her own mixed media pieces of art. - Subscription Plan
