Fleur’s focus on the local natural environment is constantly being honed by walking in nature and relishing quiet views across a variety of landscapes. Having taken photos , once back in her studio Fleur then gets to work developing a picture first in her sketchbook where she explores the best composition and works out the colour palette; then the process of evoking a scene begins on either board or canvas. She will tell you, with a wry smile, that the journey to completion of any picture can be fraught with a combination of uncertainty, energy and wonder as colours blend and shapes emerge
