Ed is a landscape painter who aims to capture the beauty of light as it interacts with the landscape. He starts all of his paintings with a plein air sketch and either returns to the same location for further plein air sessions or else completes the painting in the studio. Most of his paintings are of his home town of Leamington Spa but an increasing number are set n the Charente area of France where he has a holiday home. He was co-founder of Plein Air Leamington Spa (PALS) and he has also set up a plein air group in France (Plein Air Charente).
