Course outline:
We would encourage participants to bring a preloved pair of jeans or a duvet cover. Then using sewing machines within the workshop they will have created a simple bag, a small length of bunting or an apron.
They will cut out, pin and stitch on a sewing machine to complete their items. Participants can bring their own machine if they prefer.
The emphasis will be on reconstructing preloved textiles into something new.
Type of medium used within the workshop: Denims and cotton/polyester preloved fabric. Some participants may be able to to embelish with decorative stitch.
Materials provided: Up to six sewing machines….Iron and ironing board.. Scissors, thread, pins, patterns, tape. Limited preloved fabrics available for a donation.
Materials participants should bring: Preloved fabrics. For example: clean, old worn jeans, duvet covers , table cloths. Sewing machine if preferred.
