Location: LSA Art Room, Springboard Studios, Lower Mall, Royal Priors, Leamington Spa.
We will look at arranging and lighting a jar of seasonal flowers with different coloured backgrounds, creating interesting and unusual compositions and colour relationships. We will then sketch our composition onto the canvas, before applying the paint in a dynamic and interesting way: focusing on colour, brushwork and composition.
Materials provided: A jar of seasonal flowers Coloured backgrounds.
What to bring: a canvas (minimum A4, maximum A3); a selection of brushes; a selection of artist-quality paints; a spotlight or anglepoise lamp (only if you have one); a palette knife; a paper palette and a box to take your work home in; a phone or iPad for taking photos; a stay-wet palette (only if you have one); a roll of paper towel. For oils only: a jar and some low-odour thinners.
