Jacky is a Warwickshire artist living in Wellesbourne. She usually paints in acrylics or oils and subjects range from landscapes, town or seascapes, people and even their dogs. A constant is being inspired by the light – how it casts patterns on a wall or street, in reflections, or haloing a subject. And the contrasting shadows as they reveal and hide the subject capturing mood and emotion.
She follows in the footsteps of her painting mother and managed to squeeze in A level Art at night school when her twins were tiny- perhaps the only grown-up hours of her week then! She only found time to develop as an artist on retiring and keeping out of mischief by painting. She started with greatly detailed work, now she explores other techniques always looking to expand her skills and repertoire. She has also enjoyed pottery, printing and is proud to be in the ‘advanced’ class at Tai Chi. Her designing skills have been used in set design and painting with her drama group- a very large ‘canvas’. Jacky paints to commission as well as what captures her eye.
