Textile Focus Weeks 2027
Exhibition runs: 13 – 24 April 2027
Hanging fee: £40 per submission.
Following the success of LSA’s Focus Fortnight exhibitions, we are turning our attention to textiles, with a two-week exhibition at the Art Room from 13 to 24 April 2027.
Textile Focus Weeks 2027 will showcase the variety and creativity of textile art in all its forms. From traditional techniques to contemporary experimentation, we want to fill the Art Room with original work spanning weaving, embroidery, felting, quilting, tapestry, fabric manipulation, textile collage, mixed media and other textile techniques.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be demonstrations and workshops, bringing textile techniques to life and giving visitors an opportunity to see artists at work and learn more about how their work is created.
We are seeking 10 textile artists to come together to create, curate and steward the exhibition. Participating artists will:
- Work together as a team
- Offer demonstrations during the exhibition
- Have the opportunity to run paid-for workshops
We are looking for committed, enthusiastic textile artists who would like to play an active role in creating an engaging celebration of textile art at the Art Room.
Participants will be selected to allow a range of textile techniques to be showcased, as well as by commitment to being present and being willing to share skills and run workshops.
