Introduction to Cyanotype

Location: LSA Art Room, Springboard Studios, Lower Mall, Royal Priors, Leamington Spa.

Course outline: A chance to try your hand at Cyanotype (Sun) printing. A relaxed workshop to try this interesting method of image making using natural materials. In this workshop we will be using pre-prepared paper and UV lamps to create our images. Suitable for complete beginners and those who have previous experience of the method. The images you create are yours to take home. Introduction to the Cyanotype method. Introduction will give a brief history into the Cyanotype method. Participants will shown the basics of cyanotype printing using natural materials. Participants will produce their own prints with the use of a UV lamp. Both dry and wet Cyanotype methods will be explored.

Types of medium used within the workshop: Cyanotype photogram

Materials provided: Prepared paper UV lamps Dried plants Paper Vinegar, salt, paprika

Materials participants should bring: Any dried plants they may want to use.
