Jane studied Silversmithing and Jewellery at Loughborough College of Art and design from 1971 - 1974. She now works in her purpose built workshop at the bottom of her garden in Leamington Spa. Japanese aesthetics continue to influence her designs. Predominately she now works in textured silver and transparent enamel. Colour is the most important part of her work and enamel has become the perfect medium for her. Jane enjoys combining her own shapes, patterns and colour to create ‘one off’ pieces. “I am constantly researching and developing my work. Continual investigation of new processes and mediums are what compel, stimulate and challenge my creativity. I now use computer programmes to design shapes and patterns for the enamelling and when I combine these with good old fashioned silversmithing and enamelling bench skills I can realise my work”.
