Our History

Leamington Studio Artists (LSA) is an art charity collective, bringing together a rich myriad of talented artists from across Warwickshire, and beyond.

Established in the late nineties, the LSA prides itself on providing art spaces, support and encouragement to artists from all backgrounds and experience levels, and provides the opportunity for artists to showcase, share and sell their pieces with art lovers.

The LSA has successfully evolved with time, growing membership and influence, and changing its original name from Leamington Old Town Studio Artists, to the LSA. The name now reflects the increase in geographical reach of our wonderful members, and new art aficionados are always very welcome.

Having many homes over the years, from exhibition space in the North Hall, Spencer Yard and then onto the Old Art Gallery and Art School in Avenue Road, before finding itself at Regent Court, near the Town Hall.

We are now extremely proud of our two wonderful exhibition spaces, with East Lodge being sited within the beautiful setting of Jephson Gardens in Leamington Spa, and The Artroom, located in the prime retail spot of Satchwell Court, next the busy hub of the Royal Priors shopping centre in Leamington Spa town centre.

The LSA is grateful to Warwick District Council, Coal Pension Properties Ltd and LaSalle in their support in helping us secure these valued sites.

After the LSA was created, a regular newsletter, sponsored by Warwickshire College, kept members informed of LSA news and included updates of the local art scene. Our first issue was published in March 1998, and continues to promote and highlight local artists and their creations, as well as keeping art enthusiasts up to date on the art scene.

Further, the LSA are proud founder members of the Warwickshire Open Studios – a true celebration of the variety and quality of visual art available locally, and thanks to Mo Finnessy, also founded the celebrated and cherished Art in the Park – an annual art festival in Leamington Spa, bringing together an incredibly rich array of talented artists to show off their wares.

Today the LSA is dedicated to community engagement, supporting the visual arts and working in collaboration with other local groups to bring the beauty and appreciation of art to as many people as possible.

With over 600 members and growing, our mission is to create and exhibit visually stunning and thought-provoking artwork that engages and inspires viewers.
