Garima Dhawan is a licensing artist, and an alumna of RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). She lives and works between New York and Leamington Spa. Her work is a combination of traditional printmaking techniques integrated with digital technology, to create a dialogue between the two worlds.
Her work sells at stores ranging from Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Target, Nordstrom, Kohl’s to Bed, Bath & Beyond, NEXT, Habitat and online at Deny Designs, Society 6, Artfully Walls, Displate and Eastend Prints.
She is inspired by nature, and is determined to create peace and happiness with bold, beautiful forms filled with color, space, light, laughter, movement, expansion and spirituality – Happiness by Design.
Helena’s work comes from a mathematical background. She has been practicing origami paper folding since she was 7 years old, which led to a career as a mathematician, so whether the mathematics led to the art, or whether the art led to the mathematics is difficult to decide! They are intimately interwoven, and she is keen to show the beauty of geometric structures.
She mainly designs origami tessellations, and likes to think of these as geometrical paper landscapes, to look at and get lost in. Her recent geometrical paintings have mostly been based on exploring circles and relationships between circles. She is very interested in the symbolism of the circle, interlinked circles, related shapes, Celtic knots, designs such as the flower of life, and
