“Timeless Memories”

By Mary Usher Thomas

I was born in Shipston-on-Stour, and in my early years I lived in Kenilworth but I now reside in Royal Leamington Spa.

I am a member of Leamington Studio Artists (LSA) and also Coventry & Warwickshire Society Of Artists (CWSA). I have named this exhibition “Timeless Memories” as my paintings are of favourite places I have visited over the years that hold special memories for me.

I have always loved arts and crafts – it has always played an important part in my life. I have been painting for many years using oil, acrylic, soft pastel, watercolour and pen & wash. Always looking for a new challenge and a new way to express the subject, whether it is landscape, seascape or maybe flowers.

Mary Usher Thomas’s Private View is on
Sunday 30 April from 2.00 pm – 4.00pm

‘Who has seen the wind?’

AN EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS AND WOODCUT PRINTS
by Pat McHale

Pat McHale studied Fine art at Warwickshire College and Birmingham City University.  He works in various mediums including printmaking, painting and stone carving.

The artwork in this exhibition is inspired by John Ruskin’s book Queen of the Air.  Ruskin (1819 – 1900), was a renowned philosopher and the concerns he expressed in his writings, albeit 150 years ago, are seen by many as anticipating the disastrous effects of air pollution that we are witnessing in our world today.

The subject of the artwork is Air, and the notion that everything in nature, the clouds above our heads, the tree bent with the wind, even perhaps our own bodies have been shaped by this totally invisible yet vital force.

Pat McHale’s Private View is on
Sunday 7 May from 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
