DETAILS OF SELECTION CRITERIA AND PRIZES

ALL LSA MEMBERS WELCOME TO EXHIBIT

Open competition at the East Lodge will be from Wednesday 10th January until Sunday 4th February 2024.

PLEASE NOTE: Below is the selection criteria, with which LSA volunteers will be assessing what artwork will be accepted and what might be rejected.

Please refer to email sent on Thursday 23rd November to all LSA members for submitting your artwork.

1. You are permitted to submit one piece of work only. The artwork should be no more than 50 x 50cm in size, which includes the size of the frame. We cannot guarantee that we will accept your artwork if it is over the specified size, so you have the option of resubmitting again, or else it may be rejected.

2. All work to be displayed on walls must be an original, including digital artworks and photography. 3D artwork will also be accepted.

3. Prints can be made available in browsers at a total charge of £20 for up to 4 prints

4. All work must be ready to hang / display and any wall based work must be fitted with D rings and cord.

• If on the day that the curation team accepts the artworks for display and they do not have D rings and cords, we cannot guarantee that your artwork will be accepted.

5. All artwork to have labels on the back or underside to clearly state the following:

• Artist name
• Title
• Medium
• Price
• Contact details

6. All the entries will be judged by Caroline Griffin RBSA, John Scott Martin, President of RMSA and David Bradley, our LSA patron on the afternoon of Tuesday 9th January.

• Winners will be notified on  the evening of Tuesday 9th January.

• Prizes will be given on Sunday 14th January between 1 and 3:30pm at the East Lodge Gallery. 

7. Prizes will be Picturesque vouchers Picturesque Warwick – Art Supplies and Picture Framing (picturesque-warwick.co.uk) The prize structure will be as follows:

• First Prize – £125
• Second Prize – £75
• People’s Choice Prize – £50
• 3no. Highly Commended Prizes – £25

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

• The submission window will close on Thursday 28th December at 8pm.

• Acceptance / rejection emails will be sent by the end of Monday 1st January.

• 10% commission will apply to all artworks sold from the exhibition. You will be permitted to replace any sold artworks with another piece, provided it is no bigger than the one it’s replacing. Artist payments are made at the end of the exhibition.

• Exhibiting also requires a £10 hanging fee, which is payable upon your work being accepted at the gallery.

• Both LSA galleries operate a cashless system.

• Selected artwork for exhibition to be handed in at East Lodge Gallery on Friday 5th January between 11:30am – 3pm.

• This exhibition will run for approximately four weeks, with a takedown date of unsold artwork on Sunday 4th February between 2 and 3:30pm.

• You must be an LSA Member to submit. You can join for just £25/year on the main LSA website https://lsa-artists.org/join-lsa
• SelectionSelection is made by LSA volunteers. All decisions are final and no feedback can be given. Look out for a reply from exhibit.leamingtonstudioartists@gmail.com once we have chosen the pieces for the exhibition. We reply to everyone, successful or not, so you should always hear from us. EAST LODGE GALLERY COFFEE MORNING ON
MONDAY 11TH DECEMBER BETWEEN 11AM -12:30PM

Please come and join us for the Christmas coffee morning at the East Lodge this coming Monday 11th December between 11am – 12:30pm.

The time has shifted just on this occasion from the Tuesday to the Monday morning.

This is an opportunity for LSA artists to mingle and network, and if you haven’t already seen the December exhibition then here is your chance! There will be mince pies included as well!
