Course outline: I’ll begin with a quick demonstration of how to create a festive print using the Styrofoam board technique. Afterward, participants will have some time, over a coffee, to develop their own festive design on paper — drawing inspiration from the examples provided. Once their design is complete, they’ll trace and transfer it onto a Styrofoam board, then carefully engrave it using a pencil. I’ll then guide everyone through the printing process on paper, before they move on to producing their final print on either paper or card.
Types of medium used within the workshop: Paper, acrylic paint, gelli plate, stencils, masks, pencil, charcoal, wooden blocks, glue, scissors
Materials provided: Styrofoam boards, printing ink applied with rollers and paper/card to print on.
Materials participants should bring: Christmas spirit and maybe an apron!
