This is a quick reminder to anyone planning to enter the LSA Open Competition Response to “The Waste Land”. The date to register by is Monday 1st October and submission details can be found on the LSA website here.
All the required information and submission forms can be found on this link. The work does not have to be completed by 1st October, but your intention to submit must be registered by then.
The deadline for registration is 1st October 2018. Registration will include a short description, no more than 150 words, of how the piece was inspired by T.S. Eliot’s poem “The Waste Land” and which aspect of the poem was chosen. Registration can be completed online or via form, which will be available from East Lodge.
Submission of the artwork itself should be made to East Lodge on Monday 29th October, between 10.00 am & 2 pm.
The exhibition will make use of plinths, tables, wall space, floor space and glass cabinets. Multi-media submissions may be negotiated with Curator Karen Parker and East Lodge Manager. There is some, limited, lockable display space.
If you are still struggling with ideas, or they need rejuvenating, visit the exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum for inspiration. Don’t miss the wonderful John Newling work, part of which is in the Chapel of Christ the Servant in Coventry Cathedral. There is also a display on the exhibition’s theme of Journeys on the journey of the cathedral font from Bethlehem next to the font under the John Piper baptistery window.
I am looking forward to seeing all your entries!
